If you don't care for having your CD's start running as soon as you
insert them into the drive, you can shut off the autorun feature in XP.
Just Click '''Start, Run''' and enter '''GPEDIT.MSC'''

User's Tip
The Dictionary application and widget in Tiger lets you find a word's
correct spelling, meaning, or synonym regardless of which application
you're using. Just press '''[F12]''' at any time to bring up the
Dashboard and the dictionary widget.
As you type letters into the widget, words that begin with those
letters appear. Click on the letter at the left of the widget to switch
from a word to the list of words. Click on the Thesaurus option to find
words with similar meanings.
Also, in the Dictionary application, press [command]-, or select
'''Dictionary | Preferences''' to select the dictionary order,
pronunciation, contextual menu, and default font size. You can even
listen to the definition - just highlight the words you want read,
choose '''Dictionary | Services | Speech | Start Speaking Text'''.
