User's Tip
This week for your PC user's tip, I want to tell you how to lock your
XP workstation with
a simple two key command. Just click on Windows key + L.
For the more adventurous, here is how to create a
desktop shortcut that will lock your workstation when you
double click on it. Create a new shortcut on your desktop
using a right mouse click, and
enter 'rundll32.exe
user32.dll,LockWorkStation' in the location field.
Give the shortcut a name you like. That's it -- just double click on it
and your computer will be locked.

User's Tip
For
the Mac user's tip this week, I want to tell you how to store
your
keychain on a USB drive. If you like the convenience that
Apple's
Keychain scheme provides, but want to add a little more security to the
mix, get a USB flash drive and store your keychain on it. That way,
your keychain will only be accessible when you physically insert the
drive into the USB port.
To move an existing keychain to a flash drive, insert the drive and
then navigate to your username/Library/Keychains.
Locate the keychain you want to move and then just drag it onto the
flash drive. Then, delete the original from the Keychains folder.
To enable the newly copied keychain, open Keychain Access, which you
can find in the Applications/Utilities folder, and
choose File > Add Keychain.
Then, navigate to the keychain on your flash drive and click Open. From
this point on, whenever an application requests a password stored in
the keychain, you'll need to have the USB flash drive inserted or the
automatic password entry won't work.
