- PC User's Tip
Many of our listener know about the desperate recovery process that
Mack and my son, Ricky went through when they lost the information on
their hard drives as a result of a system failure. We continue to
emphasize the importance of backups. Now backups can be done easier and
cheaper than you would expect.
A new service has surfaced called Mozy. They are offering 2
GB of free (yes totally free) storage space with a convenient automatic
backup tool for Windows. More storage is available for a very
inexpensive upgrade fee. If you are not already doing some type of
offsite backup for your critical files, I highly recommend looking into
this free offer. Click on the link below to check it out.

- Mac
User's Tip
Rich and his son just bought mom a new MacBook. Of course they had to
trick it out, including 2 gigs of RAM that cost about an additional
$500. Had they waited and listed to my Mac User's Tip this week, they
could have added the RAM for about half that price.
Enter MacPrices.com! It charts prices from a long list of reputable Mac
retailers (such as MacMall, MacConnection, B&H Photo, MacZone,
J&R, and others). It checks their prices nearly every day, and
calls out the best deals. Many of the online stores also offer rebates
or extras on Macs, like RAM, printers, or software. It also lists
whether each store has stock on the models it offers, and whether it
charges for shipping.
As an added bonus check out PBCentral.com, which explores good deals on
Mac notebooks.
